Jakeez - Tricirque/LoFi Pancake

Jakeez
Tricirque/LoFi Pancake
SKPR004
SKP recordings

Next up SKP brings you another top quality Detroit tinged techno single from Jakeez.<>
First on the list is "Tricirque", a futuristic night out with heavy bass stabs and driving glitchy beatwork from the master of the Detroit sound, it's another cracking a-side from Jakeez. Next up is the weird and wonderful techno nourishment of "Lofi Pancake", pushing you forward on a drexciyan city ride at dusk, squelching basswork and uneasy synthlines give way to stuttering bleeps with perfectly executed ambience. With this single Jakeez is back with vengeance and ready for war.

We just cant get enough of Chris B.. Since the "Quantum Breaks EP" graced our ears back in March this year we've been begging for more, and just as the morning came and the buzz faded out Chris B returns again with a lovely free tantalising taster of things to come in the form of "Grrrowling Pains". An awesome 4 tracker featuring 2 tracks from the upcoming album due out in August this year ("The Tigers Are Coming" and "Bear Trap") as well as 2 extra-special and super-mentalist tunes "One is never Enough" and "Monster Island". If your not familiar with the sound of Chris B then you should check him out - already touted by DJ Mag in March this year as being "one of the most important artists of 2009" this is a release not to miss, and its free so you got no excuse! unless your purely into folk music or something.

Skeptical - Video Game Frame

Skeptical
Video Game Frame
Album
ABR013

Moody, Chilling and deeply immersive, the new album from Skeptical is an intricate and epic journey of synthesized soundscapes, processed beats and utterly engrossing electronic sounds. Themed as a soundtrack album, "Video Game Frame" starts you out with the ominous tones of "Beneath The City", leading into the subtly-twisted and minimally-tinged chiller, "Rapture". Other highlights include the wonderfully minimal "Cells" and "Waiting game", perfectly fitting of a dark spy movie. If your after something to really take you away on an audio trek then this is the album for you.

Tracklist:
01. Beneath The City
02. Rapture
03. Gressive
04. It's Not About Who's Right
05. Cells
06. Release
07. Please Hold
08. Prepare For Battle
09. Thing
10. Escape
11. Waiting Game
12. In The Dark
13. Frame DD

Chokai - Knowledge and Ignorance - Out now

Chokai
Knowledge and Ignorance
Album
ABR005
Out Now

The enigmatic Chokai has released his 5th studio album titled "Knowledge and Ignorance". Recently described as "Whipped up into a frenzy of samples and incorporating all elements of music production that your subconscious tells you shouldn't be allowed on an album.." (Luton at Large, March 2009), "knowledge and ignorance" is a challenging album filled with odd twists and turns, with deeper political undertones. Described by Chokai as a "concept" album, the 5th album from the veteran electronic music producer from the south is well worth a listen - if you dare to! Catch a preview now or download this release by clicking here. Special thanks to the hugely talented artist Vanessa Law for creating the fantastic artwork for Chokai's album.
