Chokai - Knowledge and Ignorance - Out now

Chokai
Knowledge and Ignorance
Album
ABR005
Out Now

The enigmatic Chokai has released his 5th studio album titled "Knowledge and Ignorance". Recently described as "Whipped up into a frenzy of samples and incorporating all elements of music production that your subconscious tells you shouldn't be allowed on an album.." (Luton at Large, March 2009), "knowledge and ignorance" is a challenging album filled with odd twists and turns, with deeper political undertones. Described by Chokai as a "concept" album, the 5th album from the veteran electronic music producer from the south is well worth a listen - if you dare to! Catch a preview now or download this release by clicking here. Special thanks to the hugely talented artist Vanessa Law for creating the fantastic artwork for Chokai's album. Jakeez - iDeas

Jakeez
iDeas
SKPR001
OUT NOW

Smokey late night cityscapes coming from Jakeez in the form of classic Detroit techno outing "iDeas".

Kicking off with the laidback progressive sound of "The Real D", Philadelphia's premier techno wizard Jakeez lets us know he means business. "Defensive" is a classic 4x4 workout with an old-skool stompy flavour that is guaranteed to get your feet in motion. Next up he drops the mother of all electro tunes with "Elektronisch Klapsdoktor", a punk infused bleepfest evoking images of grimey underground clubbing that hits you square in the nose. The EP closes with the more experimental sound of "Reed", a beautifully twisted journey that melts your mind and sends you spinning out of control into the next generation. "iDeas" is a must have release, guaranteed to have the dancefloor shouting "what's THIS?" and then begging for more!

Chris Bradshaw - Quantum Breaks EP

Chris Bradshaw
Quantum Breaks EP
ABREP007
OUT NOW

Chris Bradshaw’s First release on ABR “Quantum Breaks” is a wicked collection of expertly constructed beats, breaks and melodies showing off his immediately obvious natural skills with the genre having stepped down from Drum n Bass. Starting out with the perceptibly mellow track “2tone”, the “Quantum Breaks EP” is a cool ride of fat grooves and flowing, intricate bass lines, staying true to the creative freedom of genre. “Covertly Overt” takes a more dirty, brash approach with its stuttered, distorted breaks and eyeball-vibrating sub-bass. “Bunkup” is a more reserved affair keeping with a more minimal shuffle theme. “upwards down” and “Purple Penguins” are twisted tracks of beat changes, whimsical synth stabs and samples reminiscent of AFX and early acid with a smattering of 2-step, perfect for the dance floor. Ending on the distinctly old-skool style electro “Oblong”, Chris’ first release is set to gain lots of attention both to avid listeners of the genre as well as clubbers the world over. A wonderful piece of work and an excellent introduction to a highly talented and recently named "one of Dance music's most important producers this month" in DJ mag.
